This Holbeinesque Enamel Sapphire Ring which includes a pink sapphire, a blue sapphire and a natural pearl is from the 1830-1860 when Hans Holbein inspired these jewels through his portrait paintings of the day. Furthermore, this phase lasted only about 30 years and few pieces have survived. This ring I believe was once part of Noble jewelry and the piece is in perfect condition. Also, according to the 1862 exhibition in London, the term Holbeinesque was meant to describe these Noble pieces of jewelry. I have NEVER seen another Holbeinesque Enamel Sapphire Ring EVER. I have seen a few brooches and earrings but never a ring.
