1890's High Relief Lava Cameo brooch

This piece carved in the 1890's is truly lovely. This Cameo depicts a lady with long flowing hair and a provocative pose with head over her bare shoulder. The face is lovely and she is holding her dress up with one hand. This was carved by a master cameo marker but it has no marks what so ever. It is tested 9K Yellow Gold the setting is very nice with a twisted and detailed surround. Can be re-set in 14K if preferred but I like it just as it is. I am a big fan of anything carved by hand as these techniques are long gone. You would be pressed today to find an artist that can carve cameos as the art is died off as well as other great skills of long ago. Priced to sell.
