This lovely Cameo is from Italy and depicts a Lady with a sword and Cupid. I am not sure in mythology which lady this represents but I do know it does represent a Mythological figure. This is a fine thin shell cameo and it is set in and surrounded with an 18K Yellow Gold setting. I purchased a 14K yellow Gold Chain and I think it works perfect with this cameo. The chain is 18" long and the carving on this cameo is fine and highly detailed, cameo carvers are rae as the art is not being passed down to the younger generations. This Cameo is 2" long and 1 1/2" wide quite spectacular if I say so myself. Simple, classic, elegant necklace.
